Congratulations to the Class of 2022
From the Principal

Our community is proud of all of our Year 12s in 2022 and it is pleasing to note that 100% of the students successfully completed their VCE or VCAL Certificate with many accepting early tertiary places or securing employment or traineeships. I am confident that every one of the cohort leaves our College equipped to tackle the next steps on their journey. They have developed character qualities and values which, together with a capacity to think deeply and critically, prepares them to make a positive difference in the world.Â
The ATAR that many of the students receive today is one of the indicators used by universities to rank applicants for places where there is intense competition for places. The reality being that most students seeking places are likely to gain one.Â
At Christian College, we understand that the broader capacity and capabilities of our young people go way beyond that of a score that has a purpose for a small time in a young person’s life. Â
That said. It is important to highlight the following excellent results:Â
- 189 students (100%) successfully completed their VCE or VCAL certificate
- The average ATAR in 2022 was 70.1, compared to 69.9 (2021) and 68.8 (2020)
- 23 students received an ATAR of 90 or above (13.4% of scored VCE students), compared to 10% nationally.Â
- Dux of 2022 is James Bushell with a score of 99.1
- Proxime accessit (second) is Nathan Tarrant with 97.85
Other notable results include:
- Adela Karol 96.2Â
- Ellie Peace 94.1Â
- Jasmine Kurtz 94.1Â
- Lenni Migios 93.95Â
- Maneesha Sharma 93.75Â
- Rex Ballard 93.15Â
A Study score of 50 was achieved by:
Ali Cronk – Health and Human Development.Â

Years you attended Christian College?
I’ve been at Christian College since Year 3. I came from Moriac Primary School.
In what subjects did you undertake Units 3 and 4? Reasons for those choices?
I studied Chemistry, English Language, Specialist Maths and Indonesian in 2022, and last year studied Maths Methods and Physical Education. I’ve always been good at Maths and enjoyed it, so I was always going to do Specialist and Methods. I liked learning proper mathematical notation and technique, and in particular I enjoyed Specialist Maths. I also liked Science, and Chemistry was by far my favourite. I found it fascinating how we use science to describe physical properties that are influenced by atomic structure. I’ve also always had a talent for second languages – I think speaking a second language is an important and interesting skill. I was deciding between Japanese or Indonesian and went with Indonesian. My other subjects, English and PE, were also interesting and applicable to the real world.
Summing up the Year 12 experience in 2022…
Year 12 is a long road. In order to succeed, you have to maintain your effort through the whole year and it’s important not to go too hard or you will burn out.
Other areas of College life you’ve enjoyed?
I have continued playing sport, in particular beach volleyball, and I recently took up cricket to have a fun time with my mates over the summer. I also enjoy playing piano in my spare time and spending time outdoors.
Plans for 2023?
I’m looking to study a Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne or Monash. And I hope to continue studying Indonesian and possibly spend time in country. I’m looking into Data Science careers and a post-grad in Medicine is also a possibility. But I am still keeping options open at the moment.
Ways in which Christian College has shaped you as a person?
CCG has given me a stable spot to build my life around. I have made friends, had opportunities and learned a lot. The school has been a support through my life, from which I can bounce off of into the future.Â

Years you attended Christian College?
I attended Christian College from 2017 to 2022, Year 7 to Year 12.
In what subjects did you undertake Units 3 and 4? Reasons for those choices? The subjects I studied were General English, Chemistry, Biology, Japanese, and Maths Methods. All these subjects definitely reflected my interests, and I feel that my entire CCG journey has led me towards these areas of study. Throughout my life, I have had a passion for reading and writing, as well as for understanding more about the world and how it works, and I believe that my subjects for this year have built upon these foundational passions.
Summing up the Year 12 experience in 2022…
Obviously Year 12 was a very stressful year, simply because of the amount of work that had to be done, but I felt that it was also a time for cementing relationships with friends and improving your sense of self.
Other areas of College life you’ve enjoyed?
One of the biggest parts of College life over the years that I have enjoyed the most would have to be the various camps and trips that are run by the school. Some of my best memories at CCG are of spending time camping through rain and shine with my peers in all sorts of places around the state such as Wilsons Prom or the Murray River, or going with my class to places such as Canberra.
Plans for 2023?
Next year I definitely hope to start university so that eventually down the line I can become an environmental lawyer. In terms of further study, I hope to begin a Bachelor of Science with a focus on Environmental Science, before later beginning a Juris Doctor, both at Melbourne University.
Ways in which Christian College has shaped you as a person?
The values that CCG instils in students have certainly helped to shape who I am; these values have taught me to be a more mindful and kinder person. In addition to this, the support that the school has given me over my six years as a student here has been incredibly valuable in helping to foster my desire to learn.

Years you attended Christian College?
I started at CCG in Year 7 in 2017, going through to Year 12 in 2022.
In what subjects did you undertake Units 3 and 4? Reasons for those choices?
I did Units 3/4 Music Performance in Year 11, and in Year 12, I completed Music Style and Composition, Music Investigation, Maths Methods, Algorithmics (HESS) and English Language. I chose all three Music subjects available to me, as music is my passion.
Summing up the Year 12 experience in 2022…
Year 12 was lovely, It was nice to be back on campus without the constant possibility of lockdowns. I’m glad I got to make so much music and deepen my understanding in Maths and Computing, too.
Other areas of College life you’ve enjoyed?
I really enjoyed being a part of ensembles such as Wind Symphony, Senior Strings and the Stage Band, as well as the Shrek musical at the start of the year and House Music.
Plans for 2023?
In 2023 I would like to do a Bachelor of Music Performance at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music (Melbourne university). For a career I would like to teach, perform, compose and study music (unsurprisingly!)
Ways in which Christian College has shaped you as a person?
Christian College is a very supportive environment that allowed me to pursue all my interests and encouraging growth in many areas.

Years you attended Christian College?
I attended Christian College between 2015 and 2022.
In what subjects did you undertake Units 3 and 4? Reasons for those choices?
I took Literature, History Revolutions, Psychology, Japanese and Further Mathematics.
My study choices reflect my interests and passions, as I have always loved reading and the humanities.
Summing up the Year 12 experience in 2022…
This year was challenging, but ultimately incredibly rewarding. I have loved all the new and interesting things I have learnt and all the amazing experiences the school and my teachers have offered me.
Other areas of College life you’ve enjoyed?
I have loved being involved in the Language Program, studying Japanese for over seven years now. Trying different kinds of foods, going on day trips to Melbourne with my Japanese class, and this year, the Japanese Culture Day the Japanese teachers organised: these were just some of the rewarding activities which helped to build my understanding of Japanese culture. Â
Plans for 2023?
In the future, I hope to travel and further develop my language skills.
Ways in which Christian College has shaped you as a person?
Learning and growing in the CCG environment, I have always felt incredibly supported. I value the connections I have made with my teachers through the years, and am forever grateful for all the support and encouragement my peers and I have received.

Lenni Migios

Years you attended Christian College?
I’ve been at Christian College From halfway through Year 6 in 2016, to finishing in Year 12 in 2022.
In what subjects did you undertake Units 3 and 4? Reasons for those choices?
I took Specialist Maths, Maths Methods, Computing – Software Development, Chemistry, Physics and General English. I tend to be more passionate about maths and science subjects, while Computing was an easy option as I already do a high degree of coding outside of school.
Summing up the Year 12 experience in 2022…
For me, Year 12 was just a long, slow, monotonous grind. It was not very stressful personally, however it took up majority of my attention and time.
Other areas of College life you’ve enjoyed?
The area I most enjoyed about school was just seeing and hanging out with my friends, I did not personally participate in many extracurricular activities at school.
Plans for 2023?
Hopefully, next year I will be studying Biomedicine at Melbourne University, with the final goal of a career in the medical field.
Ways in which Christian College has shaped you as a person?
Overall, CCG has made me more considerate and understanding of other people and how they think. I am a lot less self-centred now, than when I was a child.

Maneesha Sharma
Years you attended Christian College?
From Year 7 in 2017 to Year 12 in 2022.
In what subjects did you undertake Units 3 and 4? Reasons for those choices?
I studied Global Politics, Indonesian, Further Maths, Literature and Psychology.
I’m super passionate about being an active member of our global community and finding innovative and progressive ways to continue to advance our world and resolve problems presented to the international community  – hence my interest in humanities subjects. I think my subjects – particularly Global Politics and Indonesian – enabled and encouraged me to really think about the world we live in and what we can do to make it a better place.
Summing up the Year 12 experience in 2022…
Extreme highs and extreme lows! Definitely a great opportunity to learn about myself and my learning style.
Plans for 2023?
Next year I plan on going to university to study International Relations, but I’m also super excited to travel – hopefully heading to either Italy or travelling through Indonesia. I’m not too sure yet what field I want to work in or what specific career I want to pursue…maybe working with NGOs or as a journalist.
Ways in which Christian College has shaped you as a person?
CCG has given me so many opportunities to become a global citizen and learn about the world we live in. It has taught me values that all human beings should have, regardless of their religious beliefs. And it has facilitated and fostered relationships which I am sure will stay with me for a lifetime.
