Senior Human Resources Manager

THE ROLE

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Human Resources Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping our HR strategies, enhancing employee engagement, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practices. This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills and a deep understanding of HR functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Oversee the recruitment and selection process, ensuring the attraction and retention of high-quality staff.
  • Manage the performance management system, including goal setting, performance reviews, and employee development plans.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and staff on HR-related matters, including employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices.
  • Lead and manage HR projects, such as policy development, employee engagement initiatives, and organisational development programs.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture that reflects the values and ethos of Christian College Geelong.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to support organisational change and development.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a senior HR role.
  • Proven experience in strategic HR management and policy development.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
